As we look ahead to 2026, I am proud of the extraordinary progress Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula has made—and confident in the path before us. Together, we have now produced 8.4 million meals, completed 2.9 million deliveries, driven 4.9 million miles, and benefited from over 1 million volunteer hours. These milestones reflect a community deeply committed to ensuring no neighbor is left hungry or isolated. This year also marks a pivotal moment in our growth. With the purchase of a building in Seaside, we are moving forward with our capital campaign, Welcome to the Table. Our second community kitchen will expand production, strengthen resilience, and position us to meet rising demand with care and consistency—while our current services continue uninterrupted. We are expanding for the future, grounded in the trust you place in us today. Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us build a stronger, more responsive Meals on Wheels for generations to come. Reliable Nutrition. Meaningful Connection. Right at the Door. HOME DELIVERED MEALS mowmp.org/HDM HDM client Richard receives a nutritious meal and added support through our Home Heart Heroes program, including a newly built ramp that makes it easier for him to leave his home and stay connected to his community. The food keeps me healthy, but the visit keeps me going. Seeing a friendly face and having someone care enough to stop by makes all the difference. Home Delivered Meals are the foundation of our work and the clearest expression of our mission in action. Each delivery represents nourishment, care, and reassurance for clients who rely on us to remain healthy and independent in their own homes. By providing three freshly prepared, locally sourced meals each day, we support the physical well-being of homebound seniors and adults throughout Monterey County while helping them maintain dignity and stability. Beyond nutrition, every delivery brings human connection. A visit from a volunteer offers a friendly greeting, a brief conversation, and a trusted presence that reminds clients they are not forgotten. These daily interactions provide an added layer of safety and emotional support, helping reduce isolation and offering peace of mind to both clients and their families. In 2025, our Home Delivered Meals program continued to grow in reach and impact. We expanded service across Carmel Valley, Carmel, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Sand City, Del Rey Oaks, and Seaside, ensuring that care reached neighbors in need across diverse communities throughout the county. Deliveries were completed along 38 established routes, creating a reliable network of support for individuals who depend on consistent access to nutritious meals. Volunteer Rick shares a heartfelt embrace with a client during a Home Delivered Meals visit reminding her she is cared for, valued, and never alone. 4

Market Day and Food Distribution Wednesdays bring fresh, nutritious food directly to the community— combining affordability, access, and choice in one welcoming space. Every Wednesday at the MOWCC, Market Day offers affordable, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from local farms, supporting both personal health and regional agriculture. Food Distribution Wednesdays further expand access by offering free fresh produce and bread to community members in need on a first-come, first-served basis, with no appointment required. On select Wednesdays, food distribution is enhanced by The Food Bank for Monterey County’s Mobile Produce Truck stocked through partnerships with local organic farmers and agricultural companies. Together, these programs help reduce food insecurity, increase access in produce, and ensure that neighbors across Monterey County can count on healthy food and community support each week. Fresh Food, Local Partnerships, Stronger Communities The Home Heart Heroes program provides small-scale home repairs and safety upgrades that help clients remain safely and confidently in their own homes. These improvements support mobility, reduce fall risks, and promote independence for homebound seniors, adults with disabilities, and veterans throughout Monterey County. In 2025, our team completed 37 projects, including wheelchair ramps, handrails, porch and walkway repairs, lighting upgrades, and essential heating and ventilation improvements—making homes safer, more accessible, and better suited for aging in place. In 2025, we completed 1,976 pet meal deliveries, supporting more than 40 pets across the Monterey Peninsula and helping preserve the cherished bonds that nurture emotional well-being and independence. This year, we also created a Pet Memorial Wall at our Community Center to honor the beloved animals who were part of our clients’ lives and our program, celebrating the comfort and joy they brought to those we serve.
