Market Day and Food Distribution Wednesdays bring fresh, nutritious food directly to the community— combining affordability, access, and choice in one welcoming space. Every Wednesday at the MOWCC, Market Day offers affordable, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from local farms, supporting both personal health and regional agriculture. Food Distribution Wednesdays further expand access by offering free fresh produce and bread to community members in need on a first-come, first-served basis, with no appointment required. On select Wednesdays, food distribution is enhanced by The Food Bank for Monterey County’s Mobile Produce Truck stocked through partnerships with local organic farmers and agricultural companies. Together, these programs help reduce food insecurity, increase access in produce, and ensure that neighbors across Monterey County can count on healthy food and community support each week. Fresh Food, Local Partnerships, Stronger Communities The Home Heart Heroes program provides small-scale home repairs and safety upgrades that help clients remain safely and confidently in their own homes. These improvements support mobility, reduce fall risks, and promote independence for homebound seniors, adults with disabilities, and veterans throughout Monterey County. In 2025, our team completed 37 projects, including wheelchair ramps, handrails, porch and walkway repairs, lighting upgrades, and essential heating and ventilation improvements—making homes safer, more accessible, and better suited for aging in place. Building Safety, Independence, and Peace of Mind PROGRAMS The Food Bank for Monterey County’s Mobile Produce Truck prepares at sunrise to offer free, fresh produce, bringing nutritious food directly to the community. homeheartheroes.com 8
