Dr. Javaid is the medical director of the center who is passionate about the role sleep plays in overall good health. McKillip specializes in the diagnosis and management of sleep-related disorders. He is well known as a session musician and has worked with many stars including Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Bette Midler, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, etc. His most famous collaboration is probably with Sting. Inspired by the early recordings of Miles Davis, he does not limit his musical interests to jazz only, but also reaches for classical and rock music. To date, Botti has recorded a dozen solo albums. It is one of a limited series of 22 prints. The series was printed on Rives paper (100-percent cotton, acid-free). This and other Robinson’s pieces can now be seen at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Monterey Peninsula (490 Aguajito Road, Carmel). “I thank everyone involved in this exhibition including you, the viewer,” Robinson wrote in an artist statement. “I have always worked in many different media. Much of my art reflects my interest in the natural world, while other works express my appreciation for abstraction and myth.” The church is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays 10am-12pm. That’s the title of an exhibit that will be on display at the Monterey Regional Airport until the end of the year. Whether you’re departing or arriving, spend a few minutes at the mezzanine admiring Monterey County’s film legacy. The exhibit is part of the Art at the Airport series. “We are thrilled to partner with the Monterey Regional Airport to share the magic of Monterey’s film legacy with travelers from around the world,” wrote Garland Thompson, Jr., president of the Monterey County Film Commission’s board of directors. “This exhibit offers visitors a ‘reel stroll’ through the region’s cinematic history, providing a glimpse into why so many filmmakers have chosen Monterey County as their backdrop.” The exhibit features behind-the-scenes stories, memorabilia and historical highlights from classic Hollywood films to modern streaming hits filmed in the area.
