Bargetto Winery spent the last few months developing a deeper sensory experience in its cornerstone Cannery Row tasting room, with exciting things for visitors to taste, see, and hear this fall and winter. “We took the opportunity over the summer to re-invigorate our space,” said Andi Wrede, tasting room manager of Bargetto Winery’s location at 700 Cannery Row. Wrede described a cozier tasting area and plans to add more “personal touches that make guests feel welcome in our tasting room.” After nearly 60 years on Cannery Row, Bargetto Winery strives to welcome both new visitors and dedicated wine club members to sample the estate-grown reds, whites and sparklings from this nearly century-old brand. “We are privileged enough to have wine club members who have been returning to our doors for decades,” Wrede said. While guests lounge in these refreshed surroundings, they can also taste Bargetto’s celebrated wines, like the 2023 Mount Eden Pinot Noir. This bold, fruit-forward varietal grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains recently earned 96 points from Wine Enthusiast, which called it “explosive in an elegant way.” After kicking back and grabbing a glass of wine, tasting room visitors will also be able to soak up the sounds from talented local musicians. As part of Wrede’s plans to develop more community-focused experiences, Bargetto Winery will launch a local music showcase this fall with tasting room performances on the third Friday of every month. “The community really comes out when the tourists have gone home,” Wrede said. “We’re looking forward to highlighting the creativity and originality of our local musicians.” For more than 20 years, locals have turned to Paper Wing Theatre & Supper Club’s annual performances of The Rocky Horror Picture Show to help them celebrate the spooky season in their signature style— complete with live band, midnight shows, and audience participation of course. “We love the fall theatre season and we were excited as always to present The Rocky Horror Show onstage,” says Koly McBride, owner and CEO of Paper Wing, located at 711 Cannery Row, on the second floor of the iconic Monterey Canning Company building. This musical theatre company is now looking toward 2026, when Paper Wing celebrates its 25 anniversary. For this landmark season, theatre lovers can enjoy Gutenberg: The Musical, Avenue Q, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Jagged Little Pill and Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, along with the annual Rocky Horror performance. Post-pandemic, Paper Wing added a fine dining supper club. Each dinner theatre performance is paired with a themed menu of entrees, appetizers and specialty cocktails to help bring the drama to life. This interactivity and attention to detail are what makes Paper Wing a perennial favorite for live performances of all kinds. McBride recently became a Broadway investor, a move she hopes will inspire Paper Wing’s distinct productions even more. “Our mission is to work on our projects on Broadway in New York and then bring that same level of quality and talent to our home on Cannery Row,” McBride says. “We recently held auditions for our 2026 season, so expect to enjoy that quality and talent on our stage.” Bargetto Winery Paper Wing Theatre MEET THE NEIGHBORS

Commercial real estate veteran Andie Blade joined the team of Cannery Row Company this past August. Blade is working as the Company’s new director of leasing, bringing 30 years of experience in the niche world of retail real estate to the Company’s team. Cannery Row’s iconic location was a big draw for Blade. Its nearly mile-long stretch of restaurants, hotels, retail and attractions stretching along the waterfront of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary attracted her to the position. “It’s a beautiful area, historic and touristdriven,” Blade said. “The excitement and energy felt here drew me to this role.” As Cannery Row is one of the few places to attract such a large volume of annual guests, Blade is excited to become a part of the community and find fresh opportunities for the Cannery Row district. In her first few months in the position, Blade said she has met quite a few Cannery Row business owners and merchants but is eager to meet more. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continue to develop this special place,” Blade said. Andie Blade, Director of Leasing for the Cannery Row Company, can be reached at ablade@ canneryrow.com and 831-649-2604. Andie Blade, Director of Leasing Cannery Row Company Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa joins the rest of Cannery Row as they hustle to put the finishing touches on a more soothing, contemplative fall and winter atmosphere across its restaurants, spa and hotel spaces. “Our team leans into the season,” said managing director Chris Sommers. “As the pace on Cannery Row shifts with the cooler weather, we see an opportunity to welcome guests seeking a quieter, more restorative coastal experience.” Locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients reign on curated menus from Coastal Kitchen and Schooners. You can find honeynut squash and ratatouille vegetables on Coastal Kitchen’s current prix fixe menus, alongside trendy Dubai chocolate desserts. At Vista Blue Spa, located inside the Plaza at 400 Cannery Row, fallinspired treatments like the pumpkin mocha whip facial promote relaxation before the hectic holidays. During the quieter tourist season, Monterey Plaza continues to find ways to bring both locals and travelers together, Sommers said. Tidal Coffee, located across the Plaza de Monterey, is a popular oceanside gathering spot with locally roasted coffee and housemade pastries. For something stronger than espresso, the Lobby Lounge offers nightly live music and a happy hour Mondays through Thursdays. While the Plaza team has carefully curated their wideranging services, there are some seasonal delights that while not planned, are often the most magical. “[Recently] a corporate group remarked how extraordinary it was to watch sea otters play outside their meeting room window,” Sommers said. “It’s an experience you simply cannot replicate elsewhere.” Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa MEET ANDIE

Tastes and Treats Schooners “This time of year is a truly magical time at Schooners,” says food and beverage manager Isabella Barbini. “As the seasons change, so does our menu. It’s an exciting time to showcase the incredible flavors of the region that only reveal themselves during harvest season.” Fall flavor favorites get gourmet treatment on Schooners menu. Guests may see autumnal items like burrata with persimmon, pistachio and citrus vinaigrette and ciderglazed local black cod with honey nut squash, tender gnocchi and toasted hazelnuts. For dessert, try the Gizdich Ranch apple and caramelized fennel tart paired with buttermilk sherbet. Schooners’ location inside Monterey Plaza Hotel at 400 Cannery Row makes it a prime spot to experience the Monterey Peninsula’s “quiet shift” this time of year, Barbini says. “This season gives us the opportunity to connect more personally with our guests and focus on the finer details that make a meal memorable,” she says, describing candlelit dinners on Schooners extensive outdoor patio or enjoying the waves from inside the dining room in a cozy booth. “Fall and winter invites us to slow down and savor the beauty of the moment.” Lalla Oceanside Grill Like Schooners, Lalla Oceanside Grill also pairs unbeatable views with a welcoming menu. Located inside the Spindrift Inn at 654 Cannery Row, Lalla Oceanside is known for its contemporary California cuisine. Lalla Oceanside Grill is dedicated to local, from-scratch cooking, including its extensive menu of housemade pastas. Cioppino, the beloved seafood stew, is also a perennial favorite at the restaurant. As for that view, guests can get an uninterrupted chance to enjoy the bay via Lalla Oceanside Grill’s “frameless” windows. The Grill is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Monterey’s Tasty Olive Bar As you read this, Christmas is already in full swing at Monterey’s Tasty Olive Bar. “We deck out the store seasonally and Christmas for us starts just before Thanksgiving weekend,” says owner Debbie Baron. Monterey’s Tasty Olive Bar is across the street from Bubba Gumps at 751 Cannery Row. While Thanksgiving arrives just once a year, The Olive Bar’s free samples of extra virgin olive oils, paired with local bread, is a year-round treat. Nico’s Ice Cream November marked the one year anniversary of Nico’s Ice Cream, located at 711 Cannery Row in suite H. While the shop has already gained many locals’ attention with its novel New Zealand-style ice cream, it has recently added a coconut cream-based vegan option to its menu. “We get to deliver a completely new experience to almost every single person who walks into our shop,” says owner Zane Provenzano. “Fall season on Cannery Row is especially fun because we get an extended window of ice cream swirling before

things slow down,” Provenzano says. “Locals and visitors can look forward to some surprise seasonal specials in collaboration with other local businesses in Monterey around the holidays.” A Taste of Monterey of Monterey Wine Market and Bistro A Taste of Monterey Wine Market and Bistro is ready to welcome guests back to its OceanView Wine Bar, a 700 Cannery Row amenity closed since 2020. “We have had an amazing response from our wine club members and customers as they really missed the chance to casually enjoy a wine tasting or a glass of their favorite wine,” says owner Britt Talbert. Talbert became owner on June 1, “continuing the legacy” from 31-year owners Ken & Robyn Rauh. Talbert says she is ready for what the winter season brings: the fruits of harvest season and gathering to enjoy them. A Taste of Monterey pours wines from more than 60 local wineries and features seasonal local produce on its bistro menu, like Brussels sprouts and Castroville artichokes on flatbreads, paninis, or small plate appetizers. “The goal is to bring together the amazing views of Monterey Bay, expertly crafted wines from throughout Monterey County, and the absolutely stunning variety and talent of our local chefs to create the ultimate Monterey experience,” Talbert says.
