The 2025 California Building Standards Code, applicable throughout California, becomes effective as of January 1, 2026. This ordinance adopts the state standards with more restrictive local amendments applicable in the unincorporated area of Monterey County based on express findings that the County amendments are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, geological, and topographical conditions.
