Sandra Tamiano, a devoted mother, sister, aunt and cherished friend, has passed away at the age of 60. She was the cornerstone of our family, a source of endless love and strength to all. Sandra was a woman of many passions. She spent countless hours making her home a loving and welcoming place to share and celebrate family and friends. Her beautiful style for art and love for plants filled her home with warmth. She also enjoyed the time spent with loved ones through her love for food, the adventures of travel, a walk in the neighborhood, and simply taking the time to enjoy a glass of wine. Her strength and leadership is witness to the dedicated years of service to the US Postal Service as a carrier, clerk and post master. But most of all, Sandra was an observer, a listening ear, and a steadfast source of wisdom. She taught her children that true strength lies in kindness and that a warm meal shared with love can solve almost any problem. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on through her family and friends. We find comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us, and we will honor her memory by living lives filled with the same joy and passion she brought to us. She is survived by her children, Stephanie and Sebastian Tamiano, her parents Antonio and Wildelina Declet, and siblings, Antonio Declet Jr, Bell Farber and Antonio Declet III. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Sanele Tamiano. We will celebrate her remarkable life: Viewing at Bayside Mortuary on November 3, 2025, at 4–7pm. Sam Waller June 26, 1956–Aug. 31, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Samuel Ersty Waller, Jr. on August 31, 2025. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all that knew him. Sam was born in Arkansas on June 26, 1956, to Samuel Sr and Virginia Mae. As the son of a military father, he made his way west when his father was stationed in California. Sam loved the water and in his younger years could be found surfing the waves of California beaches. Continuing his love of water, Sam moved to Oregon and found solitude on the Rogue River. Sam and his family purchased Jot’s Resort in 1991 and he made Gold Beach his home. He loved to fish, and could usually be found fishing for salmon on The Rogue or chasing albacore on The Pacific. Sam enjoyed reading, antique sales, traveling, and great food. He had a heart of gold and a rare kindness that made everyone feel valued. Sam connected with people and loved to tell stories. His smile and laugh were contagious. Sam is survived by his wife Sheryl; his son Samuel III and Shasarah and his grandson, Samuel IV; his chosen daughter Megan and granddaughter Chloe; brother, Dean McKinney; and niece, Tara (McKinney) Daiss with husband Johnny and their three children, Bronson, Brynlee, and Brielle. Please join his family and friends on Saturday, November 1, 2025, as they celebrate his life. There will be an inurnment at the Rogue River Cemetery in Gold Beach, Oregon, at 11 am. Then at 3pm a Celebration of Sam’s Life will held at the Curry County Fairgrounds and Event Center in Gold Beach, Oregon. www.montereycountynow.com OCTOBER 30-NOVEMBER 5, 2025 MONTEREY COUNTY WEEKLY 41
