The Branford Marsalis Quartet, founded by Marsalis in 1986, has been thrilling audiences the world over with spirited performances ever since, known for their almost telepathic ability to communicate with one another, playing both vibrant originals as well as creative interpretations of historic compositions by masters like Charles Mingus and John Coltrane. The quartet debuted earlier this year on Blue Note Records with their interpretation of the classic 1974 jazz album Belonging, by the great pianist Keith Jarrett, receiving strong reviews.
