REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF FUNDS On or about June 8, 2025, HCD will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the release of $8,903,530 of HOME‑ARP funds and $3,196,635 in HOME‑ARP COSR funds under Title II of the Cranston‑Gonzales National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, as amended (24 CFR Part 92), to undertake a project known as the Marina Kai Apartments for the purpose of constructing a 24‑unit affordable permanent supportive housing community. The project proposes to demolish four existing units containing eight bedrooms of shared housing and two two‑bedroom manager units located at 605, 607. 609 and 611 Bayonet Circle; and in their place, constructing 23 studio apartments and one one‑bedroom manager’s unit, to be renamed Marina Kai Apartments. The new structure will be built at the same location with a larger three‑story residential structure. The project will also include the expansion of the existing parking areas to the east and west of the existing structure to create 12 additional spaces. The project will be built on a portion of a 2.17‑acre parcel in Marina, California. The project developer, Interim, Inc., acquired the parcel in June 1996 for use as transitional housing. The current two‑story building on the site consists of four two‑bedroom units (addresses 605, 607, 609, 611 Bayonet Circle) which house two resident managers and four transitional housing beds will be demolished to construct a new three‑story apartment building consisting of 23 studio apartments, and one one‑bedroom resident manager unit.
