This year’s event is part of a growing tradition of Barnyard businesses stepping up during the holidays to strengthen community ties and support families across the Monterey Peninsula. Organized in collaboration with longtime local resident and entrepreneur Brian Gingerich, the initiative reflects his ongoing commitment to local fire associations through Monterey Mattress Gingerich-Built and the promotional efforts of Monterey Bay Marquee, the new incarnation of what had for decades served our community as The Monterey Mattress Marquee Community Program. Gingerich hopes to highlight the Barnyard’s unique role as a hub for local shopping, dining, and community gathering—especially during the holiday season. CalFire and their team will not only escort Santa Claus to the Barnyard but will also offer tours of the fire engines and they will bring additional goodies for the children to help spread the holiday cheer! Families can expect festive holiday energy, opportunities for photos with Santa, and child-friendly surprises throughout the afternoon. For those wishing to give back this season, Toy Drive baskets will be placed at multiple Barnyard businesses, allowing community members to donate new, unwrapped toys anytime between now and December 13. On December 13th, the Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation will join CalFire on site with additional collection barrels to help accept donations throughout the event. All toys collected will go directly to local families who need a little extra support this holiday season. The Barnyard has long served as a cornerstone for independent shops, restaurants, and creative small businesses. This holiday event reflects the power of local collaboration. Businesses, first responders, nonprofit partners, and community members are coming together to celebrate the season while supporting the next generation. “This is what makes the Monterey Peninsula special,” said Gingerich. “Local businesses lifting each other up, giving back, and creating experiences that strengthen our community.” Event details Barnyard Holiday Toy Drive Celebration Bring a toy.
