Thursday, Dec. 26 Vinyl & Wine Everyone has their own idea of a perfect night out. For some, it might not involve food and drink—it could mean loud music or roller coasters. For others, it might be sipping wine under the stars, relaxing on an open patio and listening to vinyl. If that sounds like your kind of evening, there’s a spot in Carmel Valley that brings it all together for a perfect trifecta. The Wine House hosts Vinyl Thursdays, offering the perfect mix of ambiance and entertainment. Patio seating is first come, first served; small bites and beverages available for purchase. You can bring your own record, or just sit back and enjoy the community’s collection. [KR] 3-8pm Thursday, Dec. 26. The Wine House, 1 E. Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley. Curry has since toured the U.S. and the world—in 2019 she performed 51 shows in nine countries—and has written for a variety of comedy shows. She’s also the creator, host and producer of “She’s So Funny” on SiriusXM and a year ago she filmed her debut standup special, “Emotionally Edging.” Curry riffs on life as a single woman and the absurdities of what’s happening in the world around us. It’s one of four that developer Shea Homes commissioned Prunedalebased sign company, Signs by Van, to make in The Dunes community. CEO Jeremy VanderKraats hired a local talent, muralist Dong Sun Kim, to paint this massive mural of an underwater scene on the wall of the movie theater, beginning with big base color swatches, starting on Dec. 10. I love to create amusing pieces that make you look twice. Creating art can be a very vulnerable place to exist. You are putting your soul into making something that makes complete sense to you and the anticipation of reaction from others is often paralyzing.” With this philosophy in mind, Vávrová has been also creating soaps that have been adored by her clients for many years.
