Monterey State Historic Park Association and California State Parks present the 40th annual event, a self-guided walking tour of Monterey’s historic adobes that are decked out in classy holiday flair, complete with festive music and other entertainment. It is meant to promote a connection with the community, on the wall of Monterey County Behavioral Health’s Alisal Integrated Health Center (located at 331 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas). “Painting images can visually unify all the people in an idea, message and emotion, surpassing cultural differences. Illustration is the universal language,” says José Ortiz, one of the artists for the project, along with Jose Nolasco, Juan Carlos Padilla and Josue Rubio. Join the artists and community members in a mural unveiling celebration—complete with games, food, music and fun—from 11am-1pm Saturday, Dec. 14.
