Starting before we opened in 1984, we’ve benefitted from the generosity of over ten thousand people who have collectively given more than four and a half million hours of their time in service of our mission. These passionate volunteers have welcomed 71 million guests from around the world, assisted in the rescue and release of stranded sea otters, inspired students to become ocean leaders, cleaned exhibit windows (while underwater), and filled countless other roles that have made the Aquarium a place of wonder for four decades. We wouldn’t be here today without our community of volunteers. We’re forever grateful for their kindness and dedication.
