The “Music at Tor House” holiday event features music and songs, poetry and readings that reveal Robinson and Una Jeffers’ family Christmas traditions. The program includes the music of Bach, plus English, French and German carols, selections from A Book of Gaelic Airs, and more. The recitals include Katherine Edison (soprano), Robert Armstead (bass-baritone) and Melinda Coffey Armstead (piano) inside Tor House, the stone cottage and tower where the prolific 20th-century poet did his writing. Along the way she realizes the true meaning of the holidays is a homemade greeting from the heart. Created in 1995, this is an image of a rooster that one time roamed freely at the Cooper Molera Adobe, according to Mark Johnson, the gallery owner. The juror was Shana Lopes, an assistant curator of photography at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. An opening reception takes place 4-6pm on Saturday, Dec. 16. “These images tell you more than my family story; they’re a window onto the Black American experience,” Taylor wrote. “At the same time these images show my own unspoken anxiety and fragility as it pertains to the well-being of my son and fatherhood.
