The purpose of MPWMD's proposed acquisition is to convert the privately owned, operated, and held Cal Am Monterey Water System area to public ownership and control by MPWMD. The goal is to operate the system at a lower cost, better quality of service, and with greater transparency and local control. Last Chance to Be Heard This is the last chance for the public to be heard on this subject before the MPWMD Board of Directors makes their final vote to proceed with eminent domain or not.
