By Pam Marino Historic Treasure At the time of its completion, on March 8, 1849, Colton Hall was the largest city building west of the Rockies, “erected out of the slender proceeds of town lots, the labor of convicts, taxes on liquor shops, and fines on gamblers,” Walter Colton wrote.
